It’s kinda a hard song to screw up I think.

Finally watched the Western Stars movie; I thought it was great. The performances were similar to the album, but I really enjoyed the snippets between the songs. Added a lot of weight to an album that already has a lot of emotion to it.

Fuck. Yeah.

That time that…

“Springsteen’s “Born to Run” received consideration for New Jersey state song in 1980 after DJ Carol Miller started a petition drive on New York City’s WPLJ-FM, according to a UPI report. The assembly passed a resolution but it died in the Senate.”

Likely due to this part of the song, celebrating the joy that is New Jersey:

‘Oh, baby this town rips the bones from your back
It’s a death trap, it’s a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we’re young’

#48

Yeah, he should get a day, what the hell.

I watched the Clarence Clemons documentary on Netflix the other day and thought it was pretty good. Better than a lot of those kinds of things. I was disappointed they never mentioned his band Clarence Clemons and the Red Bank Rockers - a band that I saw in concert back in the early 80’s at Mayor Jane Byrne’s ChicagoFest on the Navy Pier.

#49

How about Thunder Road then?

Except for this line…

“It’s a town full of losers. I’m pulling out of here to win”

#50

He looks really old. It’s a bit sad.

#51

he looks fine to me.
i was more concerned with charlie puth’s eyebrows.

#52

I was reading these lyrics on a Bruce B-side and thought they sounded kind of eerie… not sure what the context was?

#53

Three Mile Island.

For some reason, he started playing it in 1988 on the Tunnel of Love tour.

Yeah, I had forgotten how many rare or “unreleased” tunes he played that night. It was a great show… I saw him do the Detroit Medley three different times.

Light of Day that I believe he wrote for Joan Jet was a highlight that night I remember.

#58

Light of Day was fantastic in 1988–especially with Nils Lofgren on lead.

#59

he was supposed to make his acting debut in that movie…a cameo…

he declined.

Paul Schrader was born in Grand Rapids and directed or wrote quite a few good films. Never saw that one though.
